Asia & The Pacific

In the Asia & The Pacific Program, Schools Online focuses on two areas: the South Asia Region (SAR), which involves primarily India, and the Southeast Asia Region (SEAR), involves China, Japan and Laos. These programs reflect the many differences within the Asian subcontinent, ranging from geographic isolation seen in Laos, to countries with such socio-economic discrepancies seen in India and China. Europe

Europe provides and opportunity for achieving a high level of success in connecting schools that have limited or no access to the Internet, making an enormous difference in the lives of children who are facing a great deal of adversity. In addition, the country is need of urgent intervention in education and youth activities to prevent many emerging social and health risks. In Europe, Schools Online is working in Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia, Macedonia, Russia, Slovenia and Spain. Latin America

As a region, Latin America holds close to 9% of the world's population and only 4% of the world's Internet users. To compound this poor statistic, the average Internet user in Latin America is still white, male, urban, university educated and upper middle class. Schools Online initially began working only within US Schools. Until just recently, many schools in the US were struggling with inadequate phone lines, poor access in rural communities to local Internet Service Provider (ISP), as well as the lack of professional development and pedagogical support.
